Geppretto the old carpenter is assembling a wooden puppet in his shop. Suddenly the wood starts to scream under the carpenter's chisel: the puppet, yet unfinished, just stood up and started to walk about. It is talking... It came to life. Geppretto is overjoyed by this miracle. He feels absolute love for the puppet and names it Pinocchio. He sends him to school like any other child. However, Pinocchio is far from perfect. He is self-centered and only interested in having fun. Without thinking twice, the little rascal leaves the old man to discover the world.
